Standards and Policies
There are over 75 Standards of Practice and Policies to which all CIPA members must adhere to maintain the right to display the CIPA Certification Mark. These requirements are in addition to local regulatory compliance, and imposed to address the nuances of mail order delivery and e-commerce business.
These deal with:
- Legal and regulatory compliance;
- Prescriptions and prescription review;
- Communication and protection of patient information;
- Drug quality standards;
- Current policies and standard operating procedures and general operations manuals;
- Affiliate and dispensing partner obligations to adhere to all of the CIPA Standards;
- Restrictions to formulary;
- Onsite inspection of international dispensaries a minimum of every 2 years.
